West coast of Ceará

Icaraizinho de Amontada

Brisa Bistrô sits on Moitas Beach, within the Icaraizinho de Amontada region — one of the most authentic, least crowded stretches of the Ceará coast.

The region

Wind, dunes and a fishing village

About 190km from Fortaleza via the CE-085 highway, Icaraizinho de Amontada (also called Icaraí de Amontada) is now one of the world's most respected spots for kitesurfing, windsurfing and wingfoiling, thanks to strong, steady trade winds from July to December. But the region is much more than a sport destination: near-empty beaches, dunes, lagoons and Moitas Beach — where the Aracatiaçu River meets the sea and forms mangroves — make up a landscape that still keeps its fishing-village charm.
